Why MMI Exists.
Many instrumental students receive excellent technical instruction yet still experience theory, ear training, sight-reading, interpretation, performance psychology and audition preparation as separate subjects—or not at all. MMI™ connects those capacities around the musician and their existing instrumental training.
The transformation: from playing the notes and waiting for a teacher to identify every problem to becoming a more complete musician who can hear ahead, understand the score, practise intelligently, interpret with intention, perform more reliably and take increasing responsibility for musical decisions.
Students may work across instrumental technique, scales and technical foundations, sight-reading, ear training, theory and analysis, repertoire, stylistic understanding, practice methodology, interpretation, ensemble and solo artistry, performance psychology, examinations, auditions and opportunity preparation.
