BOURNE GLOBAL ENTERPRISES INC. · PRIVACY & TRUST
Privacy Policy
Effective September 7, 2026 · Version 2.1
We collect and use personal information to deliver education, artistic development, professional services, partnerships and related operations. This policy explains the information involved, why we use it, how BGE/BGIPA recording operates, and the choices available to students, parents, clients, faculty candidates, guests and organizational partners.
1. Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to Bourne Global Enterprises Inc. websites and services, including the Bourne Global Institute for the Performing Arts™; VMI™, MMI™, DMI™, AMI™, Speech Arts™; professional/executive services; assessments; MasterClasses; communities; faculty recruitment; institutional/studio partnerships; advisory work; events; recordings; evergreen learning; and digital resources.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on the relationship, information may include contact/account information; parent/guardian information; student age/program information; educational/artistic history; applications and assessment responses; recordings, photographs or submitted performance/communication material; attendance and progress information; consent/authorization records; faculty credentials and recruitment information; guest/partner information; professional/client documents voluntarily supplied; transaction records; and ordinary website/device/usage information.
3. Why We Use Information
We use information where reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries; assess fit/placement; deliver and improve services; communicate essential program information; safeguard participants; administer and document instruction; support educational continuity and quality assurance; manage faculty, guests, partnerships and institutional relationships; administer transactions/records; protect BGE systems and intellectual property; meet legal/compliance obligations; and, where the applicable authorization or other lawful basis exists, create, edit, publish, distribute, license, market or otherwise use approved recordings/media.
4. Children & Young People
Our performing-arts programs may serve minors. A parent/guardian is ordinarily the primary administrative contact for a participant under 18. We seek age-appropriate and jurisdiction-appropriate authorization and limit collection to information reasonably connected to participation, safeguarding, instruction, administration and other disclosed purposes. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising a minor’s user-controlled online camera, microphone, displayed name, profile image/avatar, background, chat, screen sharing and other identifying information according to the family’s selected participation status.
5. The BGE/BGIPA Recorded Environment
BGE/BGIPA operates a recorded educational, artistic and professional environment. Scheduled or designated online and in-person activities may be audio-recorded, video-recorded, photographed, livestreamed or otherwise captured. This includes private lessons/coaching, classes, cohorts, MasterClasses, Mass Zooms, workshops, seminars, interviews, assessments, auditions, adjudications, rehearsals, performances, showcases, demonstrations, hot seats, critiques, presentations, singing, instrumental performance, acting, dance/movement, speech/speaking/Speech Arts™, community programming, intensives, retreats, AWAY experiences and other scheduled BGE/BGIPA activities.
Recording may support instructional continuity, review, educational documentation, quality assurance, safeguarding, dispute/documentation needs, administration and institutional records and, where the applicable commercial authorization exists, educational publishing, evergreen products, institutional licensing, publicity, advertising and other authorized commercial uses.
Read the BGIPA Recording & Participation Policy™.
6. Passive and Featured Participation
Where passive online participation is available, a student may participate camera-off. A family choosing that mode is responsible for controlling user-managed identifying information and contributions. A student choosing featured participation—such as performing, speaking, playing, acting, dancing, receiving featured live coaching, being adjudicated, entering a hot seat, demonstrating, interviewing or presenting—is choosing recorded participation under the applicable Standing Commercial Media Authorization™.
7. Standing Commercial Media Authorization™
Commercial/promotional use of identifiable student participation is governed by the applicable express standing authorization rather than being inferred solely from enrolment. Where granted, the authorization may cover the participant’s authorized name/identifying information, image, likeness, voice, speech, photograph, supplied biography, statements, interviews, performances, demonstrations, coaching/MasterClass participation, presentations and other contributions embodied in BGE/BGIPA recordings.
Depending on the governing authorization, permitted processing/use may include recording, copying, editing, cutting, trimming, cropping, excerpting, extracting clips, creating stills/highlights/trailers, captioning, subtitling, translating, adapting/reformatting, compiling, combining with other authorized material, replaying, publishing, distributing, displaying, marketing, selling, licensing and using material in learning libraries, paid evergreen products, institutional offerings/licensing, websites, social media, advertising, publicity and other authorized BGE/BGIPA uses. The exact rights are governed by the applicable authorization/agreement and applicable law.
8. Private Instruction
Private lessons and private coaching are part of the recorded BGE/BGIPA environment. The family’s separate Private Instruction Commercial Media election determines whether appropriate private-instruction recordings/excerpts may also enter BGE/BGIPA’s commercial, promotional, evergreen or institutional media ecosystem. A decision not to authorize commercial/public use does not, by itself, mean the underlying private instruction is unrecorded for the disclosed legitimate educational/operational purposes.
9. BGE Editorial Selection
Authorization to use material does not require BGE/BGIPA to publish or feature it. BGE/BGIPA may select an entire authorized recording, a portion, clip, still or none of it. Permission creates no entitlement to publicity, publication, promotional exposure, screen time, attribution, social-media inclusion, evergreen inclusion or future opportunity.
10. Retention of Recordings and Other Information
Perpetual rights, where validly granted, do not mean every raw recording must be stored forever. BGE may preserve selected rights-cleared material for continuing educational, archival, commercial or institutional purposes while applying retention/deletion rules to raw material no longer reasonably needed. Safeguarding, complaint, dispute, contractual, accounting or legal holds may require longer preservation. Different record categories therefore have different retention needs.
11. Access & Security for Recordings
Raw instructional recordings are intended for controlled BGE access according to legitimate need. Student replay access, where offered, is separate from BGE’s recording itself and may be authenticated or limited. Safeguarding/incident material receives more restricted access. Commercial selects should be cleared through BGE’s rights-control process before marketing, evergreen or institutional use.
12. Marketing, Testimonials & Media Choices
Where applicable law requires consent for a marketing/publicity use, BGE relies on the applicable authorization rather than assuming that purchase alone creates unlimited marketing permission. A participant who has not granted the applicable commercial authorization may still receive the underlying educational program, subject to the participation rules governing optional featured recorded opportunities. Changes or withdrawals are handled prospectively where applicable and do not automatically undo material already lawfully produced, published, distributed, licensed or incorporated into products where BGE retains continuing rights.
13. Third-Party Rights
A student’s, parent’s, faculty member’s or guest’s permission can grant only rights they control. Music, scores, backing tracks, scripts, choreography, images, slides, trademarks and other third-party material may require separate clearance. BGE may omit, mute, replace, edit, restrict or decline to publish material where rights are not cleared.
14. Faculty, Applicants & Commissioned Work
Faculty/professional candidates may provide résumés/CVs, credentials, references, work history, availability, screening information and application materials. Appointed faculty and commissioned creators may also be recorded and may create curriculum/resources under their employment or engagement terms. BGE maintains separate rights and commissioned-IP controls for work created for the Institute.
15. Guest Experts & Contributors
Guest experts, specialists, speakers, adjudicators and other contributors are governed by the applicable engagement terms. BGE records the scope of recording, editing, clip, replay, evergreen, institutional, promotional and other rights acquired so staff can determine whether an asset is cleared for a proposed use.
16. Professional & Executive Confidentiality
Speech Arts Professional™, executive communication and advisory clients may share sensitive presentations, speeches, organizational information or other professional material. BGE limits use to the agreed service and related administration unless a separate authorization/agreement permits broader use. Clients remain responsible for authority to share third-party/organizational confidential information.
17. Institutional & Partner Information
Schools, studios, universities, associations and other organizations may share contact, referral or participant information under an appropriate relationship. Each party is responsible for its own legal obligations and authority to disclose information. A partner relationship does not automatically authorize unrelated use of participant data.
18. Service Providers & International Processing
BGE may use service providers for hosting, communications, video delivery, productivity, scheduling, payment processing, file storage, analytics, editing/production or other operations. BGE is a Canadian company and providers/professionals may operate in more than one country, so information may be processed outside the participant’s home jurisdiction. BGE seeks safeguards appropriate to the relationship and applicable requirements.
19. We Do Not Sell Personal Information as a Business Model
BGE does not sell personal information as a data-broker business model. This statement does not limit BGE’s authorized commercialization/licensing of BGE/BGIPA educational or media products containing participant contributions where the applicable rights have been validly granted. Where privacy law separately defines advertising-technology “sale” or “sharing,” applicable rights will be respected.
20. Cookies & Analytics
Our websites may use cookies/similar technologies for functionality, security, preferences, analytics and marketing measurement. Consent/preference controls may depend on jurisdiction and technology. Browser controls may also allow users to restrict cookies.
21. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Access should be limited according to role and legitimate need, and access for personnel should be removed when no longer required.
22. General Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for identified purposes, including delivery, student/professional records, safeguarding, contractual administration, dispute resolution, tax/accounting and other obligations. We do not promise one universal retention period for every category.
23. Privacy Rights
Depending on jurisdiction, individuals may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction/objection or withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent. Rights may be subject to legal exceptions, identity verification, valid continuing rights and retention obligations. Requests may be sent to info@bourneglobalenterprises.com.
24. Communications Preferences
People may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing using the available mechanism or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not prevent essential administrative, safeguarding, contractual or service communications.
25. AI & Automation
BGE may use AI-assisted or automated tools for drafting, administration, moderation, analysis, captioning, transcription, translation, search/indexing, editing/production and other appropriate operations. Sensitive information should not be placed into tools unless their use is appropriate and consistent with BGE requirements. The ordinary media authorization does not by itself authorize creation of a materially new synthetic clone of an identifiable person’s voice or likeness for unrelated purposes.
26. Safeguarding & Disclosure
Privacy does not prevent appropriate action where disclosure is reasonably necessary or legally required for safeguarding, safety, fraud, abuse, legal process or serious concerns. Information will be limited as appropriate.
27. De-Identified & Aggregated Information
BGE may use appropriately de-identified/aggregated information for program improvement, planning, research, reporting and institutional understanding where individuals are not reasonably identifiable.
28. External Links
BGE websites may link to third-party services. Those organizations control their own privacy practices.
29. Changes & Version Control
BGE may update this policy prospectively as programs, technology and obligations evolve. Material changes receive a new effective date/version. Historical consent/authorization evidence should preserve the version accepted rather than silently replacing the record of what a person agreed to.
