She Has Sat on More Than One Side of the Table.
Cassandra Bourne is a master voice teacher first and a performer second. Her perspective has also been shaped by serving as an Artistic Director and General Manager; founding and leading performing-arts organizations, music festivals and centres for the performing arts; directing music theatre; building programs and institutions; performing as an award-winning Canadian soprano; and assessing artists internationally as an examiner and adjudicator.
Her examining and adjudicating work has extended beyond singers to instrumentalists, bands, orchestras, choirs and ensembles. She has assessed and examined thousands of students and performances internationally, with responsibilities including bestowing scholarships and awards and determining advancement to national music festivals and other higher levels of recognition.
As a master teacher, Cassandra has trained hundreds of students toward exceptional results: high examination marks and honours, scholarships and awards, elite educational placements, major performance opportunities and professional careers. That history gives her pattern recognition across voices, technical challenges, repertoire, developmental stages and the transition from potential to sustained achievement.
