Bourne Global Academy of Vocal Arts™ · Vocal Mastery Intensive™

Pre-Professional VMI™

For advanced singers completing—or already beyond—formal training and ready to transform years of serious development into professional readiness, artistic authority and an increasingly intentional career.

Transforming Talent. Building Careers.

You Have Learned How to Sing. Now You Are Learning How to Build a Career Around the Artist You Have Become.

University and conservatory training can give you technique, musicianship, repertoire, coaching and performance experience. The years immediately after training ask you to connect those strengths with professional decisions: repertoire, auditions, materials, relationships, money, opportunity selection, resilience and the continuing development of the instrument itself.

Pre-Professional VMI™ is the bridge from trained singer to increasingly self-directed working artist.

Cassandra brings an unusually complete view of that bridge. She is a master voice teacher who has developed hundreds of singers, an Artistic Director and General Manager who has built and led performing-arts organizations, an award-winning Canadian soprano, and an international examiner and adjudicator who has assessed thousands of singers, instrumentalists, bands, orchestras, choirs and ensembles. She has been responsible for scholarships, awards and advancement decisions—including progression to national music festivals—so she understands not only how artists prepare, but how readiness is perceived and consequential decisions are made on the other side of the table.

As You Look at the Next Twelve Months, What Would You Most Like to Change?

I Want Clearer Direction

I want to know which opportunities, repertoire choices and professional moves belong together—and what deserves priority now.

I Want Stronger Professional Readiness

I want my audition package, recordings, materials, communication and preparation to represent the artist I have worked to become.

I Want Developmental Continuity

I want my technique and artistry to keep growing even though the built-in structure of school has ended.

I Want the Right People Around Me

I want to understand which teachers, coaches, specialists, mentors, programs and professional relationships can genuinely help me move forward.

From Training to Trajectory.
TWO PRE-PROFESSIONAL PATHWAYS

Choose the Level of Architecture That Fits the Stage You Are In.

Pre-Professional ELITE™

Direct enrolment. For advanced singers who want serious continuing voice development, a dedicated Pre-Professional cohort, live Performance MasterClasses and professional-readiness training around auditions, self-tapes, materials, communication, representation readiness and career resilience.

After enrolment, the Academy reviews your questionnaire and 1–3 performances to determine appropriate BGE Faculty and cohort placement.

Pre-Professional Director’s Studio™

Selective consideration. For artists whose auditions, representation, repertoire, specialist needs and career decisions call for a personally directed architecture led by Cassandra Bourne.

The pathway can include an Annual Artistic & Career Blueprint™, Strategic Artistic Network Map™, Opportunity Intelligence™, curated specialists, milestone intensification and additional Cassandra touchpoints where appropriate.

ELITE is not a lesser version of Director’s Studio. It is a complete developmental home. Director’s Studio becomes appropriate when the level of individual career architecture itself needs to become more bespoke.

Professional Pathways.

The Structure of School Ends. Your Development Does Not.

The first professional years can become fragmented precisely because the built-in rhythm of lessons, coachings, deadlines and faculty oversight disappears. Pre-Professional VMI™ replaces drift with intentional continuity while strengthening the independence required for a sustainable career.

The Working Artist Develops More Than the Voice.

Audition & Opportunity Strategy

Fit, timing, repertoire, preparation windows, travel, applications and strategic value help determine which opportunities deserve your energy.

Professional Materials & Digital Presence

CV, biography, headshots, website, repertoire lists, recordings, self-tapes and correspondence become part of the professional instrument.

Representation & Relationships

Learn how to research fit, approach professionally, follow up, build trust and understand when representation may be appropriate.

Career & Financial Intelligence

Audition fees, travel, coaching, recordings, applications and professional materials require choices. We help artists think strategically about costs, opportunity value and sustainable portfolio or multiple-income careers where appropriate.

Professional Presence

Preparation, communication, responsiveness, collegiality and reliability shape how directors, conductors, coaches, administrators and colleagues experience working with you.

Resilience & Continuity

There may be many noes before meaningful yeses. Learn how to recover, recalibrate and return to the work with confidence, curiosity and artistic identity intact.

Audition Today. Opportunity Awaits.

From “What Should I Do Next?” to “I Understand Why This Is My Next Move.”

That shift—from reacting to the profession toward navigating it with greater intelligence—is one of the central transformations of Pre-Professional VMI™.

You Have Spent Years Becoming a Singer. Now Become the Artist, Colleague and Professional Who Can Carry That Training Into the World.

The profession will experience your voice. It will also experience your preparation, judgment, communication, resilience, curiosity and ability to contribute to a room. Pre-Professional VMI™ develops those dimensions together because a sustainable career asks the artist to become increasingly capable of directing both the work and the life around it.

The Stage Is Calling.

Build the Career With the Same Intention You Brought to Building the Voice.

Talent and training brought you to this threshold. Pre-Professional VMI™ helps you build what comes next.
