Adult VMI™
Your voice does not belong only to the person you were at eighteen. Adult VMI™ is for singers who want to discover, reclaim or deepen what their voice can do now—without needing to justify serious training through a professional career goal.
The transformation: from wondering what might still be possible, or feeling limited by old habits and fragmented experience, to understanding your instrument more clearly, singing with greater freedom and musicianship, and having an artistic practice that belongs meaningfully to your life now.
You Do Not Need a Professional Ambition to Deserve Extraordinary Training.
Some adults return to singing after twenty years. Some have sung in choirs all their lives but have never had the chance to understand their own instrument deeply. Some once studied seriously and chose another career. Some begin at forty, fifty, sixty or beyond because the desire never went away. Some simply want one part of life that belongs completely to them.
Adult VMI™ is not a diluted young-artist program. It is serious, intelligent vocal development designed around an adult life.
At its foundation is Cassandra Bourne’s work as a master voice teacher who has developed hundreds of singers across different ages, stages and ambitions. Her students have achieved exceptional examination results, scholarships and awards, advanced educational placements, major performance opportunities and professional careers. Adult VMI applies that same depth of listening and diagnostic teaching to a different question: what can your voice become now?
Perhaps This Is Not About “Making It.”
I Want My Voice Back
I used to sing. Life became busy. Work, family, caregiving or simply time moved me away from something I loved. I want to find that part of myself again.
I Have Always Wondered What I Could Do
I have carried the question for years. I do not need a career from singing. I would simply like to know what becomes possible when I finally give my voice excellent training.
I Want to Sing With More Freedom
I sing in a choir, church, community group, theatre or at home, but I want greater ease, range, confidence, stamina and understanding.
I Want Something That Is Mine
Adult life can become a long list of responsibilities. Singing can be a place for beauty, challenge, play, expression, community and personal growth that is not measured by productivity.
Your Age Is Not an Apology. Your Experience Is Part of the Instrument.
An adult singer brings language, memory, relationships, loss, humour, courage, perspective and emotional intelligence into music. The goal is not to make you sing like a younger person. It is to help your technique become freer and your artistry become more fully yours.
Choose the Level of Support That Fits Your Life.
Adult CORE™
A welcoming, structured pathway for adults who want excellent vocal education, guided development, musicianship, artistry and community.
Best for: adults who value group learning, flexibility and serious training without private coaching every month.
Adult ELITE™
The wider Adult VMI experience plus individualized private development around your own voice, repertoire, goals and pace.
Best for: adults who want personal attention, repertoire selected for them and a closer developmental relationship with BGE Faculty.
Adult Director’s Studio™
A selective, highly personal relationship with Cassandra for the adult who wants to discover how far their voice and artistry can go when this part of life finally receives exceptional attention.
Best for: committed lifelong, returning or later-starting singers who want a private artistic architecture held directly by Cassandra.
Not Sure?
CORE and ELITE are direct-enrolment pathways. Director’s Studio is selective because Cassandra’s private capacity is limited—not because adults must prove professional potential.
What Can Change When You Give Your Voice Time Again?
Ease
Understand breath, registration, resonance and coordination so singing can feel less like forcing and more like communication.
Confidence
Become more comfortable being heard—in a lesson, choir, recital, community performance, worship setting or simply in your own home.
Musical Independence
Strengthen musicianship, listening, rhythm, language and score understanding so you participate more fully in the music.
Expression
Move beyond getting the notes right. Text, character, phrase, style and emotional truth can make singing feel like genuine communication.
Belonging
Learn alongside adults whose stories may be completely different from yours but who share the desire to keep becoming more capable and expressive.
Possibility
A recital, choir solo, community production, recording for your family, or simply singing a piece you once believed was beyond you can become a meaningful milestone.
You Are Allowed to Want This Simply Because It Matters to You.
You do not have to monetize the voice. You do not have to prove that the time is practical. You do not have to be the most advanced singer in the room. Wanting to sing more beautifully, freely and truthfully is enough reason to begin.
The Next Chapter Can Still Have Music In It.
Adult VMI™ gives that music somewhere serious, generous and beautifully structured to grow.
